Errors in your Adwords CampaignPosted by camthecameraman in SEO, Adwords, Advertising, Adsense |

Rule Number one when building and paying for an adwords campaign, ensure that your site works!!
I often like to look at the people paying to place their ads on my site. I realise they havent specifically chosen me but I am aware that should someone click on their ad I do get paid a small amount of money. I run Adsense on this site for that reason only. The income is too small to be worth it but the Adwords response can be interesting. I wrote a few blog posts about "video conversions melbourne" based watching my adsense campaign.
Today I saw a few ads for SEO related services as I have changed my menu strcuture and added the menu "SEO" prominently in the code. Google have picked this up and have started serving more SEO related ads. This was the top of the site a few moments ago.
My eye was drawn to the ad for "afforadable seo" and I went to the website (No I didn't click on it). Their URL is http://www.websitesearchengineoptimisation.com.au/ if you too would like to check it out.
Now I don't need SEO services, in fact I work at Stew Art Media and that would make this company a competitor, but I am interested to see what they had to say. The URL was keyword heavy, that's good. The site tells me very boldly that they "build websites that work", lots of bold statements about how clients are earning big incomes from the information provided by WebMechanics. I delved deeper into the page and decided to click on the link "DIY Guide", unfortunately it "didn't work" http://www.websitesearchengineoptimisation.com.au/diy_guide.html - check it out for your self.
Furthermore the "contact us" and "free evaluation" pages also didn't work. I have nothing against a website that doesn't work. There are probably dead links on this site that I havent fixed during various updates and changes but I don't pay to get people to visit this site. I also don't sell SEO services from this site so a broken link here or their only harms my personal credibility.
So I just think that it is important to understand before you go and blow your hard earned on Adwords advertising ensure that your visits can be converted into sales otherwise you are just filling Google's, and my, pockets with your cash.
